In a first, Army Day Parade moves out of Delhi after 75 years, held in Bengaluru

In a break with tradition, the Army Day parade, which used to be held in Delhi, is being held in Bengaluru, Karnataka, on Sunday. This is the first time the parade has been held outside Delhi since its inception in 1949. The Army Day is celebrated every year on January 15 to commemorate the occasion when then General KM Carriappa took over the command of the Indian Army.
